Tree of Life

Tree of life, tree planted
(willow and palm, waters of psalm)
along rivers and liquid eyes you navigated.
Both captain and passenger, you
arrive from distant shores—
fig and olive, peacock and fountain—
to this one conclusion:

He is life, He is water, He is air
and He is father.

Unlike any lover I go in.

Myself green and blue my palms
inked with written desire,
I enter a garden and a tree
(you are the garden! you are the tree!)
where you beckon me eat
your fruit, your leaves for healing:
a millennia of pain covered in this freshwater
fountain everpouring from your heart.

Unlike any lover I go in.
